How well does Syprine(Trientine) work?
This section summarizes the clinical efficacy of CUVRIOR based on study data.
Clinical Efficacy
The effectiveness of CUVRIOR was established in a clinical trial involving adults with stable Wilson's disease who switched from penicillamine. The primary measure of efficacy, serum non-ceruloplasmin copper (NCC) levels, remained comparable between patients continuing on penicillamine and those switching to CUVRIOR, demonstrating non-inferiority. A characteristic decrease in 24-hour urinary copper excretion (UCE) was observed in the CUVRIOR group, a known effect of switching to trientine from penicillamine. All patients in both treatment groups maintained clinical stability throughout the study period.
