Before taking this medicine
KINERET should be used with caution in certain patient populations, including those with active infections or severe renal impairment.
Key Precautions for KINERET Administration
KINERET should not be initiated in patients with active infections. It is crucial to monitor for hypersensitivity reactions, such as anaphylaxis and angioedema, and discontinue the drug if these occur. It should not be combined with TNF-blocking agents due to an increased risk of serious infections. Regular neutrophil counts are recommended before starting treatment and periodically during use. Caution is advised in elderly patients due to a higher risk of infections. Additionally, KINERET may cause a flare of disease upon discontinuation in patients with NOMID or DIRA, requiring careful management.
