Fostemsavir is a novel antiretroviral drug. As an HIV-1 gp120-directed attachment inhibitor, it provides an important treatment option for patients with multiply drug-resistant HIV-1 infection.
Indications for Fostemsavir
Target Patient Population
It is indicated for heavily treatment-experienced adult patients whose current antiretroviral regimens have failed due to drug resistance, intolerance, or safety issues.
Requirements for Combined Medication
It must be used in combination with other antiretroviral drugs and cannot be used alone.
Its mechanism of action is to inhibit the binding of the gp120 protein on the surface of HIV-1 virus to host cells, thereby blocking the virus attachment process.
