Qlosi Eye Drops is a cholinergic agonist indicated for the treatment of presbyopia in adults.

Precautions for the Use of Qlosi Eye Drops

Contraindications

Patients with a known allergy to the active ingredient or any excipients.

Patients with active iritis (may lead to synechia between the iris and lens).

Medication Use in Special Populations

Pregnancy: Sufficient controlled studies are lacking. Animal experiments have shown that high doses may cause fetal skeletal abnormalities and weight loss. The use of this medication requires a careful weighing of its benefits and risks.

Lactation: It is not yet clear whether this medication is excreted into human milk. Lactating women should use it with caution.

Elderly patients: The efficacy of this medication in patients aged 65 years and above has not been established.

Dosage Regimen

The standard dosage is 1 drop per eye. A repeat dose may be administered after 2-3 hours to achieve an effect lasting up to 8 hours.

The maximum frequency of use is 2 times per day, and it can be used either daily or on an as-needed basis.

If other eye drops need to be used, an interval of at least 5 minutes should be maintained between the administration of different eye drops.

Discard the vial immediately after a single use.

Special Precautions

Effects on vision: This medication may cause accommodative spasm, temporary blurred vision, or night blindness. Avoid driving or operating machinery when vision is impaired.

Contact lenses: Remove contact lenses before instilling the eye drops, and wait for 10 minutes after instillation before reinserting the contact lenses.

Administration guidelines: Avoid contact between the tip of the vial and the eyes or other surfaces to prevent eye injury or contamination of the vial.

Common Adverse Reactions

Pain at the instillation site (incidence: 5-8%).

Headache (incidence: 5-8%).

Blurred vision (incidence: 2-5%).

Severe Adverse Reactions

Retinal detachment: Symptoms include sudden flashes of light, floaters, or vision loss.

Allergic reactions: Symptoms include severe rash accompanied by fever, general malaise, facial edema, etc.

Worsened iritis: Symptoms include eye pain, photophobia, and decreased vision.

Medication Monitoring for Qlosi Eye Drops

Retinal Assessment

All patients should undergo a retinal examination before starting treatment with this medication, especially those with a history of retinal lesions.

Mental Health Monitoring

Pay attention to changes in mental health, such as depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation.

Night Vision Monitoring

It is recommended to assess the patient's visual function under low-light conditions.

Self-Monitoring

Sudden changes in vision.

Eye discomfort or pain.

Fluctuations in mood or mental state.
