Who can use Firdapse(Amifampridine)?
Firdapse (amifampridine) is approved for the treatment of Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome (LEMS) in adults and pediatric patients 6 years of age and older.
Who can use Firdapse (Amifampridine)?
Dosing is based on body weight; patients weighing 45 kg or more can take up to 100 mg daily, while those under 45 kg are limited to a maximum of 50 mg daily. Its use is not recommended for patients with a history of seizures or a known hypersensitivity to aminopyridines. Special caution and lower starting doses are required for patients with renal or hepatic impairment and for those who are known slow metabolizers (NAT2 poor metabolizers).
