Who can use Enbrel(Etanercept)?

Enbrel (etanercept) is a TNF-blocker indicated for adults and pediatric patients (≥2 years for certain conditions) with autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pJIA), and moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis (PsO) (≥4 years for PsO). 

Who can use Enbrel(Etanercept)?

It is contraindicated in patients with active sepsis.Adult candidates include those with active RA, PsA, AS, or chronic plaque PsO, while pediatric use is approved for pJIA (≥2 years), juvenile PsA (≥2 years), and PsO (≥4 years). Patients must be evaluated for latent tuberculosis (TB) and infections before initiation, as Enbrel may increase infection risk.

 Caution is advised for individuals with a history of hepatitis B, demyelinating disorders, or heart failure. Live vaccines should be avoided during treatment. Use requires medical supervision to monitor for serious adverse reactions like malignancies or severe infections.
