Dosage and Administration

For adults and adolescents, the initial single dose is 1.0 gram (one 5 mL ampoule) administered intravenously. For children under 12, the dose is 14 mg/kg intravenously, not exceeding 1.0 gram. Treatment is most effective when initiated within the first 24 hours post-contamination. For inhalation administration, reserved for cases of sole inhalation contamination within 24 hours, the solution must be diluted 1:1 with sterile water or saline before nebulization. After the initial dose, Zn-DTPA is recommended for any required maintenance therapy.
