Potential Side Effects

In adults and children aged 6 years and older, the most common side effects are headache and fatigue. When used with ribavirin in adults with decompensated cirrhosis, fatigue, anemia, nausea, headache, insomnia, and diarrhea are common. For children under 6 years, vomiting and spitting out the drug are frequently reported. A serious side effect is the risk of symptomatic bradycardia when co-administered with amiodarone.
