Common and Serious Side Effects
The most frequently reported adverse reactions, occurring in more than 20% of patients, include hot flashes, arthralgia, fatigue, flushing, and increased sweating. Other notable effects involve hypercholesterolemia, headache, dizziness, and bone pain. The medication carries warnings for more serious effects such as a decrease in bone mineral density, leading to an increased risk of fractures and osteoporosis, as well as elevations in total cholesterol levels. Fatigue and dizziness may also impact the ability to operate machinery.
