Adverse Reactions
Common adverse reactions (>5% of patients) include diarrhea, headache, nausea, and vomiting. Serious side effects may occur, such as myelosuppression (e.g., anemia, thrombocytopenia), peripheral and optic neuropathy (especially with prolonged use beyond 28 days), serotonin syndrome (when combined with serotonergic drugs), lactic acidosis, seizures, and rhabdomyolysis. Postmarketing reports also include hypoglycemia, hyponatremia/SIADH, and severe cutaneous adverse reactions.
